During this period, children are very active and often feel tired. Sleep needs are said to be fulfilled if the individual gets good quality sleep. Children with poor sleep quality will experience various behavioral and emotional problems that can cause fatigue, laziness, and sleepiness during the day which adversely affects children's learning concentration and memory. Objective. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the sleep quality of children in the earthquake evacuation post in Padak Goar village. Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted at the earthquake evacuation post in Padak Goar village from September to December 2018. The target population is school age with a sample of 47 respondents obtained using the Slovin formula. The research instrument used the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Results. The description of the sleep quality of 83% of displaced children is poor. Illness, loss of family members, sleep disturbances, types of activities before bedtime, and fatigue were factors that affected children's sleep quality (p < 0.05). Fatigue is the most influential factor in children's sleep quality (p=0.021 OR 12.937; 95% CI 1.462-114.468). Conclusions. Most children have poor sleep quality. This is influenced by physical illness, a history of losing family members, sleep disturbances, types of activities, and fatigue. The factor that most influences the quality of sleep in school-age children at the refugee camp is fatigue. Most parents are expected to pay more attention to the quality of children's sleep, by avoiding factors that affect the quality of their sleep.
2023-03-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of World Conference on Health and Social Science https://prosiding.binawan.ac.id/index.php/pwchss/article/view/3 Promoting Self-Regulation in Higher Education: A Literature Review 2023-02-20T00:25:03+00:00 Basilius Oda Sanjaya odasanjaya@gmail.com Augustina Sulastri ag.sulastri@unika.ac.id
Abstract. Background. The problem of mental health and the length of time for graduation from students can be overcome with the ability to self-regulate. Self-regulation has a role for the study success of higher education students. Self-regulation can affect academic performance (GPA and other achievements), persistence, and anticipating procrastination behavior and academic delays. Self-regulation also affects the ability to adapt to various learning methods (offline, online, or blended learning). Not only being a predictor of academic achievement, self-regulation is also a predictor of one's success at the beginning of a professional career. Objective. This study aims to identify the factors of self-regulation and ways to increase self-regulation behavior of higher education students. Method. A systematic review was conducted by searching bibliographies through ResearchGate and PubMed, using the keywords: self-regulation in higher educations and factors of self-regulation in higher educations. Results. Eight manuscripts were found which were comprehensive and relevant to the study objectives. The backgrounds of the students who were the respondents for these eight manuscripts were from universities in Belgium, Spain, Russia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Iran, New Zealand, and Romania. Conclusion. There are several factors that were found to have a significant correlation with self-regulation, namely: learning patterns, critical thinking, conceptions of feedback, peer feedback, autonomous motivation, perceived autonomy support, academic year, age, and type of higher education. Then there are a number of interventions that can be given to improve self-regulation, namely: life narrative reflection, peer feedback and chatbot.
2023-03-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of World Conference on Health and Social Science https://prosiding.binawan.ac.id/index.php/pwchss/article/view/4 The Effectiveness of Balance Training on Chronic Ankle Instability in Increasing Balance 2023-02-20T00:28:36+00:00 Dini Nur Alpiah dinialviah@binawan.ac.id Nabilah Sativa ruby.jennie8@gmail.com
Abstract. Background. Decreased quality of life caused by balance disorders that occur in Chronic Ankle Instability causes disruption of physical activity such as decreased postural control, impaired joint stability and the occurrence of weakness in the ligaments in the legs. This thesis discusses how the post-social assistance vocational training program influenced the entrepreneurial independence of beneficiaries at the Attention Creation Center. Then, this study discusses the conditions of the beneficiary's independence from aspects of emotional independence, behavioral independence, and value independence. This research has used a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The results of this study are: 1) The level of education affects the learning process of the beneficiaries. 2) The ability of the beneficiaries when setting targets does not contain an element of innovation and the beneficiaries have the nature of intellectual independence so that they can solve the problems they face. 3) Beneficiaries expect companions to assist in innovating. 4) The regulations set by SKA are obstacles experienced by beneficiaries in innovating, this affects the beneficiary's behavioral autonomy. Based on the results of the study, the researchers recommend that training instructors need to add variety in providing entrepreneurship material to beneficiaries who have low formal education; beneficiary assistants need to increase their assistance in conducting the process of monitoring and providing entrepreneurship guidance; The implications of this research can be used as an evaluation of vocational training programs at Attention Creation Centers or similar places. The SKA Coordinator needs to evaluate the regulations stipulated in the SKA regarding sales provisions and SOPs.
2023-03-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of World Conference on Health and Social Science
